Scholars from the ‘Price is Rite’ general studies hosted Murray State GSP’s 2023 GSProm this Thursday night. Upon thinking of the ‘rite of passage’ that every high schooler experiences in their lifetime, the biggest event that stood out was prom. Scholars in Dalton’s general studies spent hours planning the party, creating themes, and decorating the Wellness Center for all scholars to attend and enjoy. This year’s theme was a hoedown, where scholars dressed in their best cowboy attire, line danced, and enjoyed creative country themed snacks provided by Dalton’s very own mother.
Scholars were not the only ones having a hoot at Thursday’s hootenanny; countless RA’s also dressed up and cheered each other on as songs ranging from Love Story to Country Girl (Shake it for Me) played on the dance floor. Whether you were an RA living it up on the top floor, or a scholar dancing your heart out near the speakers, everyone who attended this year’s GSProm left with a smile.
