Scholars Slay at the Final Showcase

Scholars filled the seats for the final time on July 22, to watch the final showcase. All forty acts were met with roaring applause, cheers and laughter. This week’s performances included beautiful renditions of popular songs, emotional stories written by scholars and elaborate dances.

This week’s showcase included original dances created by scholars. Scholars Olivia Paulsen, Olivia Alteri, Sofia DeSalvo and Katherine Antoniou performed an original dance to Harry Styles’ song Sign of the Times. Some scholars formed the GSbarbies and Kens who performed an original dance, featuring RA Zach Standley.

Once again, scholars shocked the audience with amazing vocal performances. Songs ranged from country classics like Alexis Overberg and Hunter Falls rendition of Before He Cheats to alternative songs like Cece Phirman’s performance of Billie Eillish’s song titled idontwantobeyou.

This showcase was packed with performances from RA’s as well. RA Ray Saul sang a rendition of Taylor Swift’s Back to December. RAs Zach Standley and Katelyn Gardner performed a hilarious rendition of Man or Muppet, complete with a sock puppet performance. RA Eden Ungar sang an original song titled (I Didn’t) See the Sunrise. RA’s Keeley Pollard and Josh Gillespie performed a classic Phineas and Ferb song: Busted.
